Rob Costellon and Oscar Toledo are the founders of Wiretap Records that has mainly focused on Punk Rock since 2014. According to Castellon reporting in LA Weekly, he stated that: “When I started it, I didn’t think it would last that long,”
He also continued:
“At the time I was working for KROQ here in L.A., in sales and marketing. While I was enjoying what I was doing, working in music, I still felt like I was out of touch with independent music. Both Oscar and I grew up going to punk rock shows. So I told my wife I wanted to put out a 7”, work with some local bands. I put out two releases and they did well, which convinced me to keep going. Here we are still, 75 releases later.”
Moreover, Wiretap Records have been working closely with Latin independent artists as the first band they had signed was a band called 3LH from Garden Grove. Despite not getting much recognition from the public, they are still excited about what they have in store for the future, so be sure to support them, go like their page on Facebook and check out their page also on Bandcamp. Moreover, stay cool and be sure to drink water! Peace out!
