What’s up all? Shiningbind here with the first blog post with Time Ends Productions. If you all
have not checked out Time Ends, I suggest you do now and get the word out by giving a follow, a
like, and share! Anyways, this past Tuesday has been crushing to us all in the world of music as
we all learned of Eddie Van Halen passing away from cancer. It was not only a huge blow to the
well known musicians, but a huge blow in the family, especially his son, Wolfgang Van Halen.
Van Halen took it to Twitter and Instagram along with a pic of his father by quoting;
“I can’t believe I’m having to write this, but my father, Edward Lodewijk Van Halen, has lost
his long and arduous battle with cancer this morning.
He was the best father I could ever ask for. Every moment I’ve shared with him on and of
stage was a gift.
My heart is broken and I don’t think I’ll ever fully recover from this loss.
I love you so much, Pop.”
We offer our deepest condolences to you, Van Halen, as well as to friends and family.
Wolfgang Van Halen was born on March 6th, 1991, and is the bassist for Van Halen after
replacing Michael Anthony in 2006. With that said, he became the youngest member of Van
Halen at only 29 years old. According to an unknown source, he discovered that his father,
Eddie Van Halen, was a famous musician until he “picked up the CDs that had his father’s
picture on them.” When Van Halen started playing, he started on drums until his father asked
him if he wanted to play with him, resulting in him switching to bass. Van Halen’s inspirations
when he began to play bass were Les Claypool of Primus and Justin Chancellor of Tool.
However, his biggest inspiration would have to be his father, Eddie Van Halen.
Like Eddie Van Halen, his guitars are also custom built and are based off of Eddie Van Halen’s
well-known Frakenstrat. Moreover, in February of 2015 is when Wolfgang began to work on a
solo album. However, according to an article in Rollingstone, Van Halen still has yet to release a
single song from his solo album. Despite that being up in the air, there’s always that light of
hope that it will be released, especially when Van Halen is following his father’s footsteps.
No matter what, we will never forget a true icon and legend, Eddie Van Halen as he left behind a
true legacy. That’s all for now, folks, until next time, stay tuned.
